Moldovan students achieved success at the Balkan Mathematical Olympiad, earning silver and bronze medals as well as honorable mentions

Moldova’s Olympic team won a silver medal, two bronze medals, and two mentions at the Balkan Mathematical Olympiad in Varna, Bulgaria, on 27 April – 2 May 2024.

Marius Cerlat won the silver medal. He is a student of Orizont Theoretical High School in Chisinau. Timur Degteari and Alin Popescu won bronze medals. They are students of Orizont Theoretical High School in Chisinau, and mentions went to Laura Sestacov and Mihai Esanu, students of the same educational institution.

The 137 students from 22 countries participated in the 41st edition of the Balkan Mathematical Olympiad. Among them, six students and two teachers represented the Republic of Moldova.
