Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov joined this Thursday the awards ceremony for students from the “Mihail Sadoveanu” Theoretical High School in Chisinau. The European Parliament hosted the event. The 30 students received the “Special Prize for Moldova” during the international school competition dedicated to democracy in the digital era.
“I felt proud to stand beside these young people at such a meaningful moment for them, their teachers, and our country. These students expressed through essays their thoughts on how new technologies shape democracy. These courageous young people know their voices matter and that a European Moldova builds through their efforts and achievements,” said Cristina Gherasimov.
The competition, organized by the Authority for European Political Parties and Political Foundations, targets students from EU member states. This year’s overall winner from the EU countries is the Sint-Rembert, Sint-Vincentius school group from Torhout, Belgium.
