Moldovan Wrestlers Shine at U-23 European Championships, Bringing Home Two Bronze Medals

On the sixth day of the European Wrestling Championship, Moldova’s representative Eugen Mihalcean won the bronze medal in the 79-kilogram (U-23) category by defeating the host country’s representative, Marian Subtîrică. Radu Lefter also won the bronze medal in the 97-kg category, winning the small final against a Ukrainian athlete.

Eugen, who is a Master of Sports, is a student at the Olympic Reserve Sports School.

Radu, who is an International Master of Sport, trains at the National Team Sports Training Center.

The achievement of the Moldovan athletes is due to the dedication and involvement of the coaches of the National Wrestling Team, Roman Dermenji, and Boris Savva, as well as their personal coaches Anatolie Zacon and Nicolai Scurtul, all of whom hold the honorary title of “Emeritus Coach.”
