Moldovans in the diaspora will be able to perfect their electronic signature in diplomatic missions and consular offices

The Service for Technology of Information and Cyber ​​Security Technology (STISC) along with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration have signed, today, May 10, an interinstitutional agreement that will facilitate the completion of the electronic signature for the Moldovan citizens in the diaspora, through the diplomatic missions and consular offices of our country. The agreement provides for the provision abroad by the STISC of the public key certification services (electronic signature), namely: issuing/revoking the public key certificates, suspending/restoring the validity of public key certificates through diplomatic missions and consular offices of the Republic of Moldova.

During the procedure for signing the document, the director of STISC, Gheorghe Pantaz, stressed that: “Thus, we simplify access to electronic public services and exceed the interaction barriers between the citizen and the state, we offer comfort to the users and we facilitate the benefit of qualitative electronic services. Also, by this action the Republic of Moldova becomes aligned with the recommendations and standards of the European countries ”.

For his part, the interim Secretary General of Maeie, Sergiu Odainin, said that “the modernization and digitalization of the consular services provided to the diaspora represents a key priority of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The premiere offering through the diplomatic service of the possibility of perfecting the electronic signature will give an occasion to our countrymen from the outside to relate easier with the state institutions. ”
