Moldova’s Foreign Minister Hosts Saudi Arabian Ambassador for Discussions

The head of Moldova’s diplomacy, Nicu Popescu, hosted at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration (MAEIE) the ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Republic of Moldova, based in Bucharest, Mohammed Abdulgani Mohammed Khayat.

During the discussions, the officials reviewed the current priorities of bilateral cooperation between the Republic of Moldova and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with an emphasis on the development of political dialogue between both states throughout the year 2023.

“We discussed ways to intensify commercial and economic collaboration and to promote agricultural exports. We reiterated Moldova’s interest in deepening and expanding sectoral relations, developing cultural and humanitarian dimensions, as well as the bilateral legal framework. At the same time, we appreciated the collaboration between our countries in the multilateral sphere within international organizations.

Furthermore, we exchanged views on developments both in the East European region and the Middle East, including the recent hosting of a peace conference for Ukraine in Riyadh,” stated the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nicu Popescu.
