VinOpera has expanded and doubled the number of artists in 2023: 90 musicians will take the stage in Varnița, Bulboaca, and Castel Mimi!

The sixth edition of the VinOpera International Classical Music Festival promises to be a true artistic thrill. This impressive event brings together no less than 90 internationally acclaimed artists and musicians, surpassing all previous expectations.

The Constantin Mimi Foundation, the organizer of this exceptional musical spectacle, has made a surprising move by doubling the number of participants compared to the previous year. From classical music to folklore and alternative rock, the diversified repertoire promises to capture the audience’s attention in an unexpected manner.

The festival harmoniously combines the musical notes of the artists with fine wines, creating an exciting atmosphere under the clear sky in unusual rural locations for an opera event. This cultural amalgamation offers a unique experience that must be lived to be believed.

With the expansion of the festival to three different locations, another impressive move has occurred – it has opened to the general public. Two out of the three concerts are accessible to everyone, giving music lovers the chance to witness memorable performances. These are the recitals organized in the village of Varnița on August 30th and in Bulboaca on August 31st. Two days during which renowned artists such as the “Plăieşii” Ethnofolk Ensemble, maestro Constantin Moscovici, “Gândul Mâţei Band,” Felicia Dunaf, and the “Dunaff Band” will perform for all admirers.

An Enchanting Evening at Castel Mimi

An enchanting evening is announced on the first day of autumn, September 1st. All music enthusiasts are invited to the most beautiful tourist attraction in our country, an architectural monument – Castel Mimi, to attend a grand symphonic spectacle combined with a light show, wine tastings, and selected dishes.

After being named the best European wine event of 2022 in the competition organized by ITER VITIS Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe, and the “Event of the Year” at the 2021 Wine Travel Awards in the “Enogastronomic Event” category, this year’s edition takes on an even greater scope. Over 60 musicians from the National Opera Orchestra of Bucharest and the “Serghei Lunchevici” Philharmonic will delight the audience’s ears, under the direction of Romanian conductor Daniel Jinga, the General Director of the National Opera Bucharest.

The evening will be crowned by the voices of the greatest opera artists from Bucharest and Chișinău. Among them are Iordache Basalic, a soloist of the Romanian Opera for almost 30 years, and Mădălina Barbu, classified in the rare category of coloratura sopranos, whose voice is likened to that of a nightingale. Our valued artists, internationally appreciated and laureates of the most prestigious global competitions, Lilia Istratii and Dumitru Mâţu, have prepared recitals to evoke shivers and feelings of delight, in the extraordinary atmosphere of our country’s unique castle.

Forget about parking worries, because at Castel Mimi, you have an assured spot, and if you care about the environment as the organizers encourage, then leave your own cars behind and prioritize the “wine train,” in order to fully enjoy the relaxation of a magical evening, savoring a glass of wine and relishing the presence of these valuable musicians.

Trust in the hosts, who will take care of your comfort and provide impeccable service, as they did for high officials present at the European Political Community Summit, held on June 1st, 2023, at Castel Mimi.
