In 2021, the sector showed the highest growth so far, reaching a share in GDP of 7.6%. The growth catalyst is the information technology industry, the value of which increased from 7.4 billion lei in 2020 to 10.2 billion lei in 2021, with a share in GDP of 4.2%.

The increase is due to the optimal conditions created for the development of the IT industry, ensured by the Ministry of Economy within the special fiscal regime of the information technology park “Moldova IT Park”. Respectively, in 2021, Moldova IT park residents generated an income of 6.9 billion lei, which is 1.9 billion lei or 37% higher, compared to 2020.
