The campaign launched by the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MAI) in collaboration with the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU), aimed at informing citizens about the importance of the Republic of Moldova’s accession to the European Union Civil Protection Mechanism, culminates with a final social spot.
In this context, officials emphasize that through the Mechanism, rescuers and firefighters from the Republic of Moldova have participated in various international exercises and training in disaster prevention, preparedness, and response alongside their counterparts from other countries.
Furthermore, Moldovan firefighters have demonstrated their European intervention capacity when they engaged in real missions to provide assistance following earthquakes in Turkey, forest fires in Greece, and in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic in Romania.
The accession agreement to the European Union Civil Protection Mechanism was signed on September 29, 2023, in Chișinău, by the Minister of Internal Affairs, Adrian Efros, and the European Commissioner for Crisis Management, Janez Lenarčič.
