Before his meetings in Brussels, Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu posted on Facebook that he will meet the main leaders of European institutions over the next two days. He said the discussions will focus on reforms, investments, and advancing the Republic of Moldova along the path of European integration.
“We are going to Brussels with our team to discuss the government’s priorities and explore new ways to make rapid progress in necessary reforms with the help of the EU,” Munteanu wrote.
He added that he will attend the first European Enlargement Forum organized by Commissioner Marta Kos, where he will speak about accession as “a common investment in the stability, security, and prosperity of the entire European continent.”
At the European Business Summit, he will present Moldova’s vision for transforming the country into a credible partner, open to investments, and ready to fully integrate into the European single market.
Munteanu highlighted three key messages from the Chisinau delegation:
- Moldova is rapidly transforming into a European state.
- The government has a clear plan to ensure sustainable economic growth.
- Through concrete and continuous actions, Moldova contributes to peace and security in the region.
He also confirmed several bilateral meetings with top European officials, including the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen; the President of the European Council, António Costa; the High Representative for Foreign Affairs, Kaja Kallas; and the European Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Kos. He will also meet Romanian MEPs and hold his first official meeting with the Moldovan diaspora in Belgium.
“Our message everywhere will be firm: Moldova has shown through concrete actions that it is capable and prepared to fulfill all necessary commitments to become a European state and a contributor to the European economy and security,” the Prime Minister concluded.
