Music, workshops and joy! When will the Christmas Fair be opened?

This year, the Christmas Fair, organized by the Government, will open its doors on December 23, at 5:00 p.m., in the square of the “Nicolae Sulac” National Palace.

The concept of this year’s Christmas Fair will be focused on the mobility of culture, so professional artists from Chisinau will perform on the stages of the towns of the Republic of Moldova, and amateur artists from the districts of the country will take to the stage of the Capital Fair. Some concerts in the program of the National Palace will be broadcast live on the LED screen installed in the square.

The fair will have 20 wooden houses, where folk craftsmen and local producers will display handcrafts, folk instruments, traditional costumes, wooden and clay art objects.

Also, guests of the Capital will have the opportunity to participate in a series of workshops, where popular craftsmen will share their secrets in making handicraft items, and taste traditional dishes, mulled wine and other delicacies prepared by the most skilled chefs.

Little visitors to the “Christmas Fair” will enjoy a fun atmosphere with entertainers, and in Santa’s House, children will be able to talk to Santa, recite poems and take pictures.

The artistic program will take place only on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, with the participation of orchestras and performers of popular music, folklore ensembles and marching bands.

At the same time, the “Lăutarii” National Folk Music Orchestra, the “FluieraÈ™” Folk Song and Dance Ensemble, the “Mugurel” Orchestra, the “Milenium” and “Noroc” Bands have scheduled concerts, from December 23 to 28, in Cahul, HînceÈ™ti, Balti, Cantemir, Rîscani, Leova, Soroca, Drochia, CăuÈ™eni and Ștefan Vodă.

The program of artistic events dedicated to the Christmas holidays will end on January 7, with the closing of the Christmas Fair. The fair will be open daily from 15:00 to 21:00.
