Launched today, the campaign “My Family. The European family” reminds us of the harsh reality of Moldova’s not-so-distant past and the benefits of European integration. The campaign, which will run for the next two months, is implemented at the initiative of the Institute for European Policy and Reform (IPRE), the Institute for Strategic Initiatives (IPIS), and Europe Café, with funding from the European Union (EU). The campaign aims to introduce the citizens of the Republic of Moldova to the advantages of European integration and to build resilience to disinformation campaigns against the European Union and democratic values in general.
The campaign centerpiece is a video spot that reflects the story of an 83-year-old woman whose life and family have been put under great strain.
The idea behind the campaign is to remind Moldovans of what life has been like in these lands, of the tragedies of this country and of its people, who over the last 80 years have gone through many trials: from war and organized hunger to deportations, isolation, poverty, and illegal migration, tragedies that have marked hundreds of thousands of people, destroyed lives and children.

The chance of European integration, according to the authors of this campaign, can guard against possible isolation or limitations and move towards a society where fundamental rights are respected. The European integration of the country today is a guarantee for all families in the Republic of Moldova that they will be able to move freely and that they will be able to see each other together wherever they live.
For the heroine of the campaign, a future in which Moldovans cannot travel, cannot return home for holidays, in which borders are closed and “we cannot see each other,” or in which “fences are put up between nations” and families are separated by conflicts, wars or pandemics is unimaginable.
The Republic of Moldova is its people, and the campaign’s messages are addressed to Moldovans everywhere. The campaign emphasizes that European integration is for everyone and benefits every citizen, both those living in Moldova and the diaspora.
The campaign “My Family. The European Family” is implemented at the initiative of the Institute for European Policy and Reform (IPRE), the Institute for Strategic Initiatives (IPIS), and Europe Café, with funding from the European Union (EU). The campaign will run through social media, TV, radio, and outdoor posters. The campaign runs from May to June 2024 and is a non-political initiative not associated with any particular political force or politician. It represents the vision of the partner organizations on the future of European integration of the Republic of Moldova and the best way to preserve our peace, prosperity, and freedom.
