Neither together, nor separately – the parties from the “Victory” Bloc cannot participate in the parliamentary elections

The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) prohibited the “Victory” Bloc’s affiliated parties, which had already denied registration for the September 28 elections, from fielding individual candidates. The decision follows information provided by the Public Services Agency, according to a report by IPN.

During its meeting on August 3, the CEC removed several parties from the list of eligible participants initially published on July 14. These include:

  • The Political Party “Chance”
  • The Political Party “Victory”
  • The Alternative and Salvation Force of Moldova

The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) excluded the Agrarian Party of Moldova after the Public Services Agency reported that the party had failed to register changes in the State Register of Legal Entities.

Additionally, the Supreme Court of Justice upheld an earlier decision by the Central Appeals Court, which confirmed the CEC’s refusal to register the “Victory” Bloc for the upcoming elections. The CEC issued its decision on July 19, primarily because the bloc is considered a successor of the banned Shor Party, which had been declared unconstitutional.

Under Moldovan law, parties cannot continue the activities of a banned political formation under a different name or a different structure. The decision effectively blocks all associated entities from participating in the electoral process.
