Nicu Popescu Honored with ‘Order of the Republic’ for Moldova’s Prosperity

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Moldova, Nicu Popescu, conveyed a message of gratitude and appreciation to President Maia Sandu after being awarded the “Order of the Republic.” The head of diplomacy in Chișinău specified that this distinction symbolizes the commitment to transforming the Republic of Moldova into a prosperous and modern state, integrated into the greater family of the European Union.

“With deep gratitude, I have the honor to receive the highest state distinction, the ‘Order of the Republic,’ conferred by President Maia Sandu. This prestigious order that honors me symbolizes our collective commitment to transforming the Republic of Moldova into a more prosperous and modern country, integrated into the greater family of the European Union.

The decision to initiate accession negotiations with the Republic of Moldova was possible due to the sustained efforts of hundreds and even thousands of public officials, as well as the entire government led by Prime Minister Dorin Recean, the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, headed by Igor Grosu, the entire team from the diplomatic service of the Republic of Moldova, and crucially, with the active and full involvement of President Maia Sandu,” wrote Nicu Popescu on his Telegram profile.

It is worth noting that the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nicu Popescu, was decorated with the “Order of the Republic” by the President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu. The decree of the head of state was signed today, December 26.
