(PHOTO) Moldovan athlete Alexandru Solovei took second place at the World Greco-Roman Wrestling Championship

An athlete from Moldova, Alexandru Solovei, has won second place at the World Junior Greco-Roman Wrestling Championships (U20), which took place in the Jordanian capital Amman.

“At the championship, Solovei demonstrated impressive technique and determination, defeating opponents from Russia, the USA, Croatia, and Kyrgyzstan. In the finals, the Moldovan athlete faced an opponent from Iran, to whom he lost, taking second place in his weight category up to 77 kg.”

The Ministry of Education and Research said that the athlete and his coaches will receive cash prizes and certificates during the traditional gala concert dedicated to Moldovan sports to be held at the end of the year.
