Photo Tauber and Shor met with their activists in Moscow: Preparations for the elections are underway

MP Marina Tauber and fugitive Ilan Shor met in Moscow, Russia, where they met with their activists. They posted several pictures on social media on Wednesday 3 April, but the exact date of the meeting is unclear. ” The chosen location is appropriate as we have previously emphasized the significance of maintaining strong partnership ties with Russia, both geographically and historically,” is how Ilan Shor begins his message attached to those images.

“We must strive for such grandeur and moments in our plans, in our goals. One of them – is the successful conduct of the upcoming elections. This was discussed at the meeting. It is anticipated that the authorities will continue to prevent us, as they have done in the past. However, we are taking our preparations seriously and becoming stronger. These successes are becoming more apparent. Our support base is also growing,” Ilan Shor writes in his post.

Ilan Shor has been sentenced to 15 years in prison in the “bank fraud” case and is currently evading justice in the Republic of Moldova. It was revealed last winter that he had travelled from Israel to Russia.

Authorities and experts have warned of the possibility of Russia attempting to influence the upcoming presidential elections and the referendum on Moldova’s accession to the EU this autumn. The head of the General Inspectorate of Police, Viorel Chernauteanu, stated that at least four parties in the Republic of Moldova are illegally financed with approximately 1,000,000 euros per month from the Russian Federation.
