PM Dorin Recean Engaged in Several Bilateral Meetings at Davos Forum


On the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Prime Minister Dorin Recean had several bilateral meetings yesterday with officials from the Netherlands, Croatia, Lithuania, Monaco, Bosnia and Herzegovina, writes Moldova1. During the discussions, the head of the executive in Chișinău promoted the economic agenda of the Republic of Moldova and our European path. The agenda also included the identification of new cooperation opportunities in the social, customs, or IT fields.

“Our goal is to establish the necessary connections to attract more investments in the Republic of Moldova. Because we are directly in the vicinity of active military actions, it is important for businesses to feel the political support from their countries to come to the Republic of Moldova. The Davos Economic Forum is precisely that meeting format between politics and the business community, necessary for the business community to invest in the Republic of Moldova,” said Prime Minister Dorin Recean.

Thus, the actions of the Government regarding the European path, the increase in bilateral trade, and the strengthening of collaboration in the fight against corruption were among the topics discussed by Prime Minister Dorin Recean with the President of Lithuania, Gitanas Nausėda, and His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco, during the meetings in Davos, according to a statement released by the Government.

Prime Minister Dorin Recean thanked the Lithuanian head of state for the unconditional support offered to the Republic of Moldova and the support for our country’s European path.

“The Republic of Moldova is a reliable partner for the European Union. We are ready to actively contribute to the consolidation of unity and security on the European continent,” mentioned the head of the Executive.

At the same time, on the sidelines of the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum, Prime Minister Dorin Recean discussed with His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco the business opportunities offered by the Republic of Moldova.

“The Republic of Moldova is interested in intensifying bilateral collaboration, especially in attracting Monegasque capital. In addition to the IT, wine, or digital content sectors, we can offer a series of other important opportunities, such as the implementation of infrastructure projects connecting us with Ukraine and bringing us closer to the European Union,” specified Prime Minister Dorin Recean.

The 54th annual meeting of the World Economic Forum concludes on January 19.
