The new perspectives of collaboration in the energy and information technology sectors, as well as the projects undertaken in the Republic of Moldova with the support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), were discussed by Prime Minister Recean and USAID Administrator Samantha Power. The meeting took place online.
The Head of the Government appreciated the consistent support of the United States for the modernization of our country, improving the quality of life for people, and stimulating economic growth, as reported by the Government’s press service. Recean referred to the efforts made by the authorities to revitalize Moldova’s economy, emphasizing that progress in this area is of major importance in the process of building a resilient state.
“Our priority is to create conditions for attracting investors in various fields, starting with the wine industry, the energy sector, and up to the information technology segment. We know that people expect prosperity, and we will continue to work to achieve all the set goals. We are advancing in ensuring peace and security, reforming justice, combating corruption, and moving steadily on the path of integration into the European Union,” said the Prime Minister.
In turn, the USAID Administrator appreciated the progress made by the authorities in Chisinau, expressing support for the reform agenda implemented for the benefit of citizens.
“We are close to the citizens of the Republic of Moldova, and we are committed to continuing our support for the government’s assumed priorities,” said Power.
Among the topics discussed were cooperation in the energy sector, expanding the capacity of renewable energy production, and the importance of U.S. expertise in various fields.
