Popsoi: Ukraine Needs Full International Support; Moldova and Ukraine’s EU Accession Key to Regional Security

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mihai Popsoi called for unwavering international support for Ukraine and emphasized the strategic importance of Moldova and Ukraine’s future EU accession during the Ukraine–Southeast Europe Ministerial Meeting, held at the Dubrovnik Forum.

The event gathered foreign ministers from across the region for political dialogue focused on reinforcing support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and advancing its recovery efforts.

Popsoi strongly condemned Russia’s ongoing military aggression against Ukraine, pointing to its devastating humanitarian impact, widespread destruction, and the grave threats it poses to regional and European security.

“In these conditions, Ukraine needs the full support of the international community to withstand Russia’s continued aggression. The accession of both Moldova and Ukraine to the European Union is vital for the long-term stability, security, and prosperity of our region and of Europe as a whole. For us, joining the EU is not only a goal—it is a path to ensuring peace, security, and well-being for our people,” stressed Mihai Popsoi.
