The President of the Portuguese Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, is conducting an official visit to the Republic of Moldova from October 30th to 31st at the invitation of President Maia Sandu.
Today, President Rebelo de Sousa will be welcomed with military honors at the Presidency of the Republic of Moldova, after which he will have meetings with Maia Sandu.
Subsequently, the Portuguese leader will meet with the Speaker of Parliament, Igor Grosu, with Prime Minister Dorin Recean, and will lay flowers at the monument of Ștefan cel Mare și Sfânt (Stephen the Great and Holy).

On Tuesday, President Rebelo de Sousa will hold discussions with students from the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of International Relations, Political, and Administrative Sciences at the State University of Moldova. Additionally, President Maia Sandu and her Portuguese counterpart will participate in a forum organized by the Investment Agency, during which opportunities in the Republic of Moldova will be presented to Portuguese companies operating in the region. On the sidelines of the event, a Memorandum of Understanding between the investment agencies of both countries will be signed.
