The president of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, met today, May 10th, the Secretary-General of the United Nations António Guterres. This was announced by Sandu on a social network, stating that they discussed the refugee crisis in Ukraine and the impact of the war on our country’s economy, informs realitatea.md.
“I was delighted to receive the Secretary-General of the United Nations, António Guterres, in Chisinau today. During the meeting, we discussed our joint efforts to help Ukrainian refugees from Moldova and how to address the impact of the war on our country’s economy. We have confirmed our support for the UN agenda and our readiness to strengthen our partnership for sustainable development, ” wrote the president.
Moreover, the head of the state announced that she also discussed with António Guterres about “the new UN-Moldova Partnership Framework for the next five years”.
“It is a partnership that will support the realization of our national priorities in the field of human rights and development, the consolidation of the rule of law and democracy, and will contribute to improving the living conditions of citizens,” said Sandu.
