President Maia Sandu had a bilateral discussion with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky prior to the commencement of the European Political Community (EPC) Summit at MIMI Castle.
“Honored to welcome the first participant of the EPC Summit, our friend and neighbor, President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky. We had a fruitful discussion just before the event, covering the frontline situation, bilateral agenda, and our European path,” stated the Moldovan President.

President Sandu emphasized that all the countries gathered at the Summit stood in support of Ukraine.
“All European countries have come together at the EPC Summit to jointly support Ukraine and find the best solutions to restore and maintain peace on our continent. Moldova is Europe, and Ukraine is Europe. Молдова – це Європа, Україна – це Європа. Moldova is Europe, Ukraine is Europe,” concluded President Maia Sandu.
The President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, was the first to arrive at the EPC Summit in the Republic of Moldova. He was welcomed by the President of the country, Maia Sandu, on the red carpet at Castel MIMI. The two officials also made statements for journalists.
“Ukraine ensures the security of the Republic of Moldova, and for this, I thank President Zelensky,” mentioned President Maia Sandu.
In response, the Ukrainian President expressed gratitude to the people of the Republic of Moldova for their assistance to Ukrainian refugees.
“We discussed collaborative projects focusing on infrastructure. I thank the Republic of Moldova for hosting Ukrainian refugees fleeing from the aggression of the Russian Federation,” stated Zelensky.
The people of Ukraine will never forget the support and assistance provided by the Republic of Moldova, even from the early days of the Russian invasion, said the president of Ukraine.
“I am happy to be here. It was not easy to reach Moldova, but as I have said, the message from all of Ukraine is that we support the Moldovan people. We are truly glad to make history together, shoulder to shoulder. Thank you for hosting our refugees from the early days of the war. We will never forget that,” declared the Ukrainian President in front of the press in Bulboaca.
Furthermore, the President of Ukraine posted a message in the Romanian language on his Telegram channel.
“Moldova and Ukraine are not only neighboring states but also reliable partners. We will continue to strengthen cooperation between our countries and together counter the challenges posed by Russia,” concluded the leader from Kyiv.
