Journalist Natalia Morari is running as an independent candidate in the presidential elections in Moldova, making her the ninth person to announce their decision to participate in the vote. She states that the decision was “very difficult” for her, explaining that she wants her son, conceived with the controversial Veaceslav Platon, and all children to “be proud of their country.” How did the Parliament President, PAS MP Igor Grosu, comment on this news?
”The Kremlin has put forward another one. They will probably test several candidates, but 1, 2, 3 (Natalia Morari) is the third, not the fourth; I think it is actually the fourth. I am referring to all those who have announced their candidacy so far. The Kremlin regime will likely test one candidate after another, and when they get their orders, they might take further actions. However, I believe this is part of a scenario aimed at destabilizing and disrupting our European integration process,” stated Igor Grosu for Adevărul.
In May, the journalist invited several opposition parties, both pro-Russian and pro-European, to identify a candidate for the presidential election. However, these parties, including the Party of Socialists of the Republic of Moldova (PSRM) and the Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova (LDPM), failed to reach a consensus.
