Just days remain until Romania’s presidential elections. On Monday, April 28, the final week of the election campaign officially began.
Romanians living abroad can vote for their next president over three days:
- Friday, May 2, from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. (local time);
- Saturday, May 3, from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. (local time);
- Sunday, May 4, from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. (local or Romanian local time, whichever comes first).
According to representatives of the General Consulate of Romania in Chisinau, authorities will open 64 polling stations across the Republic of Moldova:
- 18 stations in the North region;
- 38 stations in the Central region, including 20 in Chisinau;

- 8 stations in the South region.
If authorities organize a second round of voting, the electoral campaign will run from May 9 until May 17 at 7:00 a.m.
Voters in Romania will cast their ballots on Sunday, May 18, from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Voting abroad will again span three days:
- Friday, May 16, from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. (local time);
- Saturday, May 17, from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. (local time);
- Sunday, May 18, from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. (local or Romanian local time, as applicable).
On May 22, the Central Electoral Bureau (CEB) will submit the official election report and vote tallies from Romania and abroad to the Constitutional Court. After reviewing any complaints about electoral fraud and validating the results, the Court will confirm the outcome and will publish them in the Official Gazette.
