Prime Minister Dorin Recean to Run on the PAS List in Upcoming Parliamentary Elections

Prime Minister Dorin Recean has announced his candidacy for the upcoming parliamentary elections, scheduled for September 28. He will run on the list of the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS), citing his belief that only unity and collective effort can build a strong and free Moldova, IPN reports.

Recean made the announcement in his hometown of Mândâc, located in the Drochia district. “Over the years, we have preserved peace, brought the European Union closer than ever, invested in schools, hospitals, and roads, and taken major steps toward energy independence,” he said in a message shared on social media.

The Prime Minister emphasized that Moldova still has significant work ahead.

“We owe it to our children to leave behind a Moldova that cannot be blackmailed or threatened. We must finish what we started: achieving EU accession,” he added.

The Action and Solidarity Party is the first political organization to officially register for the electoral race. The Democracy at Home Party has also joined the list of registered electoral competitors. The official campaign period for the parliamentary elections begins on August 29.
