Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu met with the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Chisinau, Uygar Mustafa Sertel, where they discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation, particularly in the economic field and in implementing joint infrastructure projects.
The Head of Government welcomed the involvement of major Turkish companies in carrying out infrastructure projects in Moldova, especially those focused on road rehabilitation.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the Republic of Moldova is undergoing a continuous modernization process and stated that the participation of Turkish investors is highly appreciated.
For his part, the Turkish Ambassador highlighted the growing interest of Turkish investors in sectors such as renewable energy and bilateral trade, including increasing export quotas for high-demand Moldovan products, such as wine.
Education also remains an important area of cooperation. The Republic of Turkey continues to support educational institutions in the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia, and a recent major investment is the construction of the “R.T. Erdoğan” Industrial College in Comrat, for which the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) provided 4 million USD.
