The evaluation of the nine recommendations by the European Commission is highly positive, stated today by Vice Prime Minister Nicu Popescu, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration (MFAEI), during a press conference, as reported by MOLDPRES.
The official emphasized that the report prepared by our country was updated two weeks ago. “We presented information about the actions taken over the past year. We have made progress in some areas. The evaluation of the nine recommendations by the European Commission is highly positive, and this was highlighted in ChiÈ™inău by the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, who said that Moldova’s progress is impressive,” mentioned Nicu Popescu.
The Vice Prime Minister noted that out of the nine recommendations, three have been fully implemented, good progress has been made on three others, and certain progress has been recorded on the remaining three. “We aim to take measures to receive positive appreciation and commence negotiations. This is our country’s objective. It is absolutely important to explain to our partners all the progress made, to convince the European institutions and each member state that the changes and steps taken by us are real. We have an open dialogue with each EU member state, we are preparing the diplomatic ground, and we provide arguments that our country deserves to start negotiations at the end of this year. Moldova’s European future is certain and secure,” affirmed Nicu Popescu.
