Radu Marian stated that authorities are not planning new financial aid for the population despite rising prices.
He highlighted the measures the government has already implemented to support farmers and emphasized that increasing people’s incomes remains the main objective, rather than introducing price controls.
“We have taken measures for farmers. We have the price cap mechanism. Our objective is to increase incomes—that’s where we can intervene. If we start capping prices, no one will sell anything anymore,” Marian said.
When asked whether sufficient budget resources exist to raise incomes, he said authorities are looking for solutions and pointed to previous increases in pensions and salaries as evidence of the government’s efforts.
