The head of the Council of Europe, Marija Pejčinović Burić, also arrived at the Government House. Prime Minister Dorin Recean assured him that the Chisinau authorities promote democratic values.
“We discussed the security context in the region, including attempts to destabilize the internal situation, justice reform, and efforts to strengthen our economy. Despite all the challenges brought by Russia’s war against Ukraine, we are advancing firmly on the path of joining the European Union and continuing the actions to root out corruption”, announces the head of the cabinet of ministers.
Recean also points out that the Republic of Moldova promotes the values of the rule of law and media freedom. Thus, the authorities aim to create a fair society and a competitive and resilient economy and expressed gratitude for the support of the Council of Europe.
Marija Pejčinović Burić is on an official visit to Chisinau from Thursday. She also had meetings with Maia Sandu, Nicu Popescu, and Igor Grosu.
