The president of the Constitutional Court, Domnica Manole, may receive about 100,000 euros (1.9 million lei) from the state.
The Supreme Court of Justice granted Manole’s request for the case concerning her resignation review from the Chisinau Court of Appeal.
Manole demands the annulment of the July 2017 decision of the Superior Council of Magistracy (SCM), which led to her exclusion from the judiciary, and seeks compensation for moral damages of 100 thousand euros. She also demands reinstatement as a judge of the Appeals Chamber. Although Manole does not intend to return to this position, she demands to formalize her resignation from this post and to pay her the salary of the AP judge from 2017 to 2019, the amount of which reaches approximately 500 thousand lei.
