The meeting between Prime Minister Dorin Recean and representatives of decentralized services from the central Nisporeni district addressed several crucial topics aimed at modernizing Moldovan settlements, enhancing the quality of services provided to citizens, and fostering collaboration between central and local public administrations to expedite Moldova’s accession to the European Union, as reported by the government’s communication department.
Prime Minister Recean underscored the significance of the referendum on Moldova’s integration into the European Union, emphasizing its role in ensuring social cohesion and laying the groundwork for a prosperous future for citizens nationwide. “We are firmly anchoring the country on the European path, with the contribution of each mayor. Our common goal is to build Europe right here at home. We aspire to European-level infrastructure in our villages and cities, well-compensated employment opportunities, and high-quality public services for our citizens. The referendum on Moldova’s EU accession will foster societal cohesion for our nation’s prosperous trajectory,” expressed PM Dorin Recean.

The Prime Minister also highlighted the government’s ongoing efforts towards the development of settlements, particularly through initiatives like the European Village and the Express European Village programs, which support a range of infrastructure projects. Furthermore, PM Recean stressed the advantages of European funds and the critical importance of fully leveraging financial assistance to elevate living standards across Moldovan settlements.
During the discussions, participants delved into various topics, including road rehabilitation, the construction of a bridge across the Prut river at Barboieni to bolster Moldovan-Romanian economic relations. Additionally, they examined the potential benefits of regionalizing public services, establishing a fire and rescue station, and implementing photovoltaic panels to power public institutions in the region.
