Romanian President Honors Svetlana Bivol with National Award, Recognizing Moldovan National Philharmonic Director’s Contributions

The Director of the National Philharmonic “Sergei Lunchevich” was decorated by Klaus Iohannis. Svetlana Bivol received the distinction “Cultural Merit” in the rank of Officer, Category F, for promoting Romanian culture.

Romanian Ambassador Cristian Leon Turcanu presented her with the medal. According to the diplomat, the award reflects the Romanian state’s recognition of Svetlana Bivol’s work.

“Mrs. Svetlana Bivol has distinguished herself throughout her career through meritorious activities to promote Romanian culture in the Republic of Moldova, both in her position as General Director of the National Philharmonic “Serghei Lunchevici” and previously as Director-manager of the National Opera and Ballet Theatre of the Republic of Moldova,” Ambassador Turcanu said.

The leader of the Cotroceni, Klaus Iohannis, signed the decree awarding the distinction on October 1, 2024, International Music Day.
