Russian Foreign Ministry Summons Moldovan Ambassador Over Press Freedom Dispute

The Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to Russia, Lilian Darii, was summoned this afternoon to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Moscow. The Ambassador was handed a note of protest regarding the “persecution of the Russian-language press” in our country and the ban on entry to the territory of the Russian Federation for 11 deputies.

The information was confirmed to the agency by Igor Zaharov, the communication advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Nicu Popescu.

“I can confirm the summoning of Ambassador Lilian Darii to Moscow and the ban on entry to the territory of the Russian Federation for 11 deputies. Regardless of Moscow’s decisions or responses, we are committed to continuing to protect our information space against any external interference and maintaining a firm position against disinformation, hybrid attacks, and attempts to destabilize our country,” said Igor Zaharov.
