“We want our grandchildren to be proud that we were able, in 40 years, to bring the country up to European standards”. Says Sergiu Balica, founder of ABS Recycling Moldova, an environmentally friendly company set up in 1992 to collect, sort, and recycle waste from Chisinau and nearby localities.
The businessman says that after several trips to the European Union, he was impressed by the education, standard of living, and cleanliness.
In a short video interview conducted in the context of an information and voter education campaign on Moldova’s European integration, Balica also spoke about his expectations from the EU.

“If we are successfully welcomed into the EU and receive support, we can achieve the horizons we aim for together. I hope we can raise Moldova’s standard of living to match that of the European Union,” says Sergiu Balica.
