The Socialists may initiate a motion of no confidence against the cabinet led by Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu. Igor Dodon said on the program 7 Days on Cinema 1 that enough MPs stand ready to sign the document.

According to the MP, the population struggles to pay utility bills during the cold season and expresses dissatisfaction with current tariffs. He added that the Socialists support all opposition actions, both in the Legislature and outside Parliament.

“We discussed this with several colleagues in the opposition. We should draft and sign a simple motion of no confidence against the Munteanu Government. We need 26 signatures, and we have them. We should summon the Government to report to Parliament. I believe this step will play an important role at the start of the new parliamentary session on February 3,” Dodon said.

Alexandru Munteanu formed his cabinet on October 31, 2025. The ministers took the oath of office on November 1.
