Foam has been observed in the waters of the Raut River. Environmental inspectors intervened in the area of Pohorniceni to investigate the situation.

On-site checks are currently underway to assess the extent of the issue. Authorities are taking steps to identify the source of the pollution.

“For a detailed analysis, the intervention of the Environmental Reference Laboratory within the Environmental Agency of Moldova has been requested. Specialists will collect water samples, which will be subjected to laboratory testing,” representatives of the Environmental Protection Inspectorate of Moldova stated.

According to officials, these measures are necessary to prevent the spread of pollution, protect aquatic ecosystems, and ensure public health.

It is worth recalling that a similar situation was recorded on the Raut River at the end of March. At that time, authorities indicated that the source of pollution was the pumping station of Apa Canal Orhei, although the responsible economic agent has not yet been identified.
