Sweden reaffirmed its support for Moldova’s European integration during a meeting between Foreign Minister Mihai Popsoi and Petra Lärke, the new Swedish ambassador to Chisinau, who recently began her mandate.
The two officials discussed ways to strengthen high-level political dialogue and expand cooperation in key sectors, including security, defense, energy, education, environmental protection, and creative industries.
“We expressed our gratitude for Sweden’s continuous support in Moldova’s European journey, in strengthening democracy and cyber resilience, as well as for cooperation in education, environmental protection, and creative industries,” Popsoi stated.

The meeting also highlighted a project that strengthens the institutional resilience of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Supported by Nordic and Baltic countries, including Sweden, and implemented through the UNDP, the project focuses on cybersecurity and crisis management and is scheduled for completion in 2028.
