Switzerland and UNDP will finance four new digital solutions aimed at improving e-services

UNDP Moldova has selected the winners of the call for proposals launched in partnership with the Electronic Government Agency and Optim – Opportunities through technologies and innovation in Moldova, a project of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation SDC, implemented by HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation.

The following four digital solutions will benefit from funding:

  • M Grinder ICT will develop a proactive cyber security system based on artificial intelligence for the public sector and banks, and then expand it to other industries.
  • Simpals will develop an escrow service for digital sales and e-commerce platforms in Moldova, with the aim of increasing public confidence in online transactions.
  • Power IT and the American University of Moldova will develop an educational solution aimed at improving distance learning in higher education.
  • XY Incubator will enhance the already existing digital platform for learning entrepreneurship, XY Academy, and integrate it into university curricula to promote entrepreneurship among young people.

The total value of the grants is $152,200, of which $99,000 is provided by HELVETAS Swiss Inter-cooperation. The financial support provided for each solution does not exceed $40,000 and is complemented by an equal monetary or non-monetary contribution from the selected ICT companies.

UNDP regularly launches calls for proposals under its Program “Acceleration of digital transformation in the public sector of the Republic of Moldova”, to encourage the private ICT sector in Moldova to generate innovative solutions for the digitization of public and private digital services, as well as IT solutions for the non- IT.
