Just minutes before the first session of the new Parliament began, the building’s hallways buzzed with energy. Lawmakers, journalists, and special guests exchanged remarks — some ironic, others notably sharp.

Former Prime Minister Vasile Tarlev appeared unsure about his place in the new parliamentary setup, after PSRM and PCRM decided to form separate factions. “It’s still not clear where I should sit,” he joked.

Meanwhile, actor and MP Constantin Cheianu received “instructions” on rules of conduct and the limits of freedom of expression in the plenary chamber.

Radu Marian predicted a dynamic legislature filled with debates and opposing opinions.

However, the spotlight quickly shifted to Vasile Costiuc, leader of the Democracy at Home Party, whose traditional sheepskin hat sparked smiles and lively comments among MPs and reporters.
