The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) decided on Saturday not to register the “Victory” Bloc as an electoral competitor, barring the bloc from participating in the September 28 elections, according to IPN.
Six Commission members approved the decision, which the bloc can challenge in court.
Supporters of the bloc—created in Moscow and led by the fugitive Ilan Shor, who Moldova sentenced to imprisonment—protested outside the CEC headquarters.
Bloc representatives at the meeting claimed the Commission had decided for political reasons.
