The Central Election Commission (CEC) approved the official calendar for Moldova’s upcoming parliamentary elections, which will take place on September 28. The CEC set July 14 as the start of the election period and outlined 121 preparatory actions divided across 12 chapters, according to IPN.
The CEC Chair, Angelica Caraman, emphasized that the calendar defines key actions, including submitting numerical and nominal lists for party leadership bodies. She warned that political parties that fail to submit this information to the Public Services Agency (ASP) will not be allowed to participate in the election. The CEC will publish the list of eligible political parties on July 14.
The CEC member Vadim Filipov voiced concern over the later start date, noting that the previous election period began about two weeks earlier. He called for greater consistency to give all electoral actors enough time to prepare.

Chair Caraman explained that the CEC chose the later date to give political parties more time to coordinate with ASP and to improve predictability in the electoral process.
The CEC also announced that political parties intending to form electoral blocs must submit their registration documents between June 20 and August 13. The CEC headquarters will accept submissions Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with a break from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. The office will stay open until 5:00 p.m. on August 13.
The current legislative mandate will expire on July 11. The official electoral campaign will begin on August 28, 30 days before election day.
