Moldova is preparing to sign a new protocol for its participation in the Creative Europe program. Culture Minister Sergiu Prodan announced in an interview with IPN that the signing is expected in September, once the Government and the Parliamentary Committee for Foreign Relations approve the agreement.
Minister Prodan emphasized that Moldova has not left the Creative Europe program, despite some misleading interpretations in the public sphere. He stressed the importance of this step for local culture, as joining Creative Europe unlocks new opportunities for funding and collaboration across the continent.

He also addressed Moldova’s financial contribution for participating in the program. Although the protocol outlines such a requirement, Minister Prodan clarified:
“Given Moldova’s current circumstances, the importance of joining this protocol, the challenges we face, and the EU’s willingness to support us, we’ve reached a mutual understanding that Moldova will not have to make a financial contribution to the Creative Europe program during its remaining two years.”
