Moldovan Foreign Minister Mihai Popsoi met with the OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities (HCNM), Ambassador Christophe Kamp, on a working visit to the Republic of Moldova. It marks his first visit since assuming the position of High Commissioner.
During the discussions, the officials reviewed the projects carried out by the HCNM Office in the country, as well as the progress made in areas such as multilingual education, minority participation in public life, and promoting the study of the state language.
Vice Prime Minister Popsoi assured that the Republic of Moldova remains open to close collaboration with the High Commissioner and his office in promoting national policies for a more inclusive society, emphasizing that “Protection of national minorities without discrimination remains one of the Government’s priorities.”

In turn, Ambassador Christophe Kamp reiterated his full support and that of his office for Moldova, particularly in national policies concerning interethnic relations.
Ambassador Kamp will meet with the Minister of Education and Research, the Director of the Agency for Interethnic Relations, mayors, and representatives of the People’s Assembly of UTA Gagauzia. He will also visit the “Grigore Tamblac” State University in Taraclia and the “Stefan cel Mare si Sfant” High School in Dorotcaia village.
