In 2025, the European Union plans to allocate an additional €60 million to Moldova to support its defense capabilities. This was announced by European Council President António Costa at a press conference with Moldovan President Maia Sandu.
He called the Peace Fund the most significant instrument to support the countries’ defense capabilities.
“Moldova was granted €137 million to improve its defense capacity. And in 2025, we will offer another €60 million for this,” Cossa said.

According to him, the EU has offered a total of €1.9 billion as a support package. Of this amount, €300 million in pre-financing could be available to Chisinau by the end of April.
