The EU wants to build a railway line Lviv-Iasi-Chisinau-Odessa. This was announced by the European Commissioner for Transport Adina Valyan. Research is currently underway.
The project is of strategic importance in the area, and the railway will have a European gauge.
“This is one of the projects that are waiting for Moldova, together with partners in the region, to develop its transport infrastructure, which is the basis of economic development”, Valean said.
Investments are needed to connect with the European market. The European Commissioner reiterated that the EU wants to continue to help us, and harmonization of legislation is also important from the perspective of our integration.
