The Executive will expand cooperation with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to achieve the priorities of supporting local communities in our country, improving public communication regarding the Government’s initiatives for the benefit of the people, strengthening the energy sector, and ensuring economic growth.
These priorities were established when Prime Minister Dorin Recean met with Brittany Brown, Director of the Office of Transition Initiatives of USAID’s Office of Conflict Prevention and Stabilization, Michael Camilleri, Advisor to USAID Administrator Samantha Power, and US Ambassador Kent Logsdon.
The Head of the Executive appreciated the consistent support of the United States of America through all the projects aimed at modernizing our country, which help us in consolidating democracy, building a resilient society, and stimulating economic growth. In this context, Prime Minister Dorin Recean reiterated that boosting the economy and creating a favorable entrepreneurial climate for investors is the central objective of the Government, stressing that our country remains a safe destination for investments, despite the current regional situation.
The parties also discussed the importance of strengthening strategic communication to counter hybrid threats, especially those related to propaganda and disinformation. At the same time, the officials referred to the bilateral collaboration in the field of security, defense, and internal affairs, but also in the sectors of the economy, such as rural tourism, information technologies, and the industrialization of agriculture.
