The IMF to give Moldova 94 million dollars for the budgetary and fiscal policies promotion

Our country could receive 94 million dollars from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) by the end of April. The statements were made by Prime Minister Dorin Recean, as well as the head of the IMF mission for Moldova Ruben Atoyan.

“We have assessed the outlook and the economic risks that persist. To the risks related to possible energy prices. We undertook to implement the program we agreed with the IMF regarding macro-economic stability”, declared Recean.

In turn, Atoyan mentioned that the Chisinau administration respected the quantitative performance criteria and the reforms. According to him, it is still necessary to promote integrity and work to fight corruption.

According to the officials, the Government has reiterated its determination to promote fiscal budget policies necessary to strengthen the economy. In his view, there will be a “modest recovery” of the field in 2023, although security risks in the region still persist, together with the “uncertain” prospects in the energy sector.
