The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that, in strict accordance with the legal framework and with the approval of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Moldova, authorities can extend the voting time at polling stations abroad. The ministry encouraged Moldovan citizens to exercise their right to vote during the remaining time before polling stations close.
“We will inform the public in due time about any decision to extend the voting,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs specified.
Voting continues in several European countries where the time zone differs from that of Moldova. In Canada and the United States of America, voting will end at 7:00 AM, Chisinau time.
