The Customs Service reports that the Republic of Moldova exported goods worth more than 23.31 billion lei between January and May 2026, with agricultural and industrial products accounting for the largest share of external sales.
Sunflower seeds lead Moldova’s export structure, reaching 4.74 billion lei in value. Wires and cables follow closely, generating exports of 3.37 billion lei.
Wheat also remains a key export product, totaling 1.79 billion lei. Corn exports reached 990 million lei, while wine exports amounted to 970 million lei.
The Customs Service says reforms aimed at simplifying foreign trade procedures have supported exporters. Authorities now use automated validation of export declarations, which allows companies to submit documents electronically and reduces clearance times to around 15 minutes without direct involvement from customs officers.
