The signing of Interparliamentary Cooperation Agreement Between Moldova and France Strengthens Diplomatic Ties

In a significant milestone for Moldovan-French diplomatic relations, the Interparliamentary Cooperation Agreement between the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova and the National Assembly of France will be signed in Chisinau. The document will be signed on Friday by the President of the Moldovan Parliament, Igor Grosu, and the President of the French National Assembly, Yaël Braun-Pivet, who is currently on an official visit to the Republic of Moldova. Notably, this marks the first visit to Moldova by a President of the French National Assembly in the 31 years since diplomatic relations were established between Moldova and France.

During the visit, President Yaël Braun-Pivet will deliver a speech in the plenary session of the Moldovan Parliament, followed by a joint press conference with Speaker Igor Grosu.

According to the visit’s agenda, President Yaël Braun-Pivet will hold meetings with the Moldovan Head of State, Maia Sandu, the President of Parliament, Igor Grosu, and the Prime Minister, Dorin Recean. Additionally, the President of the French National Assembly will engage in discussions with the President of the Friendship Group with the French Republic, Marcela Adam, the President of the External Policy and European Integration Committee, Doina Gherman, as well as representatives of civil society.

As a symbolic gesture of friendship between Moldova and France, the President of the Moldovan Parliament and the President of the French National Assembly will conclude the visit by planting trees at the “Alexandru Ciubotaru” National Botanical Garden.
