Authorities will sell the land of the former Republican Stadium in Chisinau to the United States of America (U.S.). Ministers approved the agreement signing between the Moldovan and the U.S. governments at a meeting on Wednesday, July 10.
The Government announced plans to construct a new headquarters for the U.S. Embassy in the Republic of Moldova on the territory. It will include offices, residential spaces, storage, recreational spaces, and other purposes to support diplomatic activities. The public space will also include a park.
The land covers 5.1814 hectares.
According to bani.md, the Government approved the sale of the 5.4-hectare Republican Stadium site in spring 2022, with the price to be determined based on an appraisal report. The estimated cost is 15 million euros.
